Struggling with stubborn fat can be distressing, but there are treatment options available. You can try truSculpt or CoolSculpting to either heat or freeze away stubborn fat areas. Just looking at the processes and results, you may think that truSculpt® and CoolSculpting are almost the same; after all, they are both non-surgical fat reduction techniques. truSculpt® and Coolsculpting are FDA-approved and non-invasive options for liposuction. Each treatment can destroy 20-25% of fat cells with each treatment. You may need to have up to three treatments to achieve your ideal results.
truSculpt® and CoolSculpting are after the same results, which are to reduce your fat without needles, incision, or surgeries. The techniques used to accomplish fat reduction are totally different, though.
truSculpt®
truSculpt® uses the heat and energy of radiofrequency energy to destroy fat cells. At the same time, truSculpt® tightens and texturizes your skin leaving you with positive results. Because of truSculpt®’s flexible device, even the smallest area on your body can be treated and fat reduced. It is the energy of radiofrequency that allows truSculpt® to tighten your skin. Radiofrequency accelerates the production of collagen, which is the structural protein in your skin. Creating more collagen production leaves you with tighter skin where the fat cells were destroyed. Radiofrequency is a benefit when targeting the loose skin that results after pregnancy, aging, or weight fluctuations.
truSculpt® does not require areas to be “pinchable,” you can use truSculpt to reduce fat anywhere on the body where there are stubborn fat deposits.
Treatment time usually takes about 15 minutes, and you are good to go after your treatment.
CoolSculpting
You have probably heard about CoolSculpting as a fat removal treatment. This product is widely advertised on television, in magazines, and on the Web. CoolSculpting is FDA-approved, non-invasive, and can destroy up to 25% of fat cells with each treatment.
CoolSculpting freezes fat cells by using cryolipolysis. Customized applicators treat the abdomen, inner and outer tights, love handles, back fat, and even bra fat. Applicators require the area you want treated to be “pinchable.” As cells are “frozen” to a precise temperature, cellular fat removal is initiated. Fat cells in treated areas are destroyed and eliminated from the body through natural processes. The skin, muscles, and other tissues in the areas treated with cryolipolysis are unaffected.
When you undergo CoolSculping, a non-invasive applicator is applied to the surface of your skin. The applicators use suction to draw fat between cooling panels. The areas you are targeting are held in the device while extreme cold is delivered to underlying cells. At the end of the treatment, the applicator is removed, and the area is massaged. The treatment takes about 35 minutes to an hour from start to finish.
Downtime is minimal since you are not undergoing surgery. You can return to your normal activities right away, but the applicator will leave the treated area feeling and looking like a cold rectangle. Make sure you don’t layout at the beach or in the sun for a few days after your CoolSculpture procedure.
